As a journalist, I reported and wrote a deadline-driven enterprise story examining Na7ive Na7ions and its efforts to increase visibility and opportunity for young Native athletes. I conducted 17 in-depth interviews with youth athletes, parents, former MLB players, coaches, tribal chairmen and organization board members to document the program's reach and impact. I synthesized firsthand accounts, verified background information and shaped complex community perspectives into a clear, authoritative narrative for a general readership. The story helps broaden awareness of an undercovered pipeline for Native athletes and sparks engagement beyond the immediate community.
